We believe youth ministry should inspire, not indoctrinate. The goal is not to create Christian clones, but rather, to allow our children to find, build and grow their own spiritual relationship with God.
Children are present in worship until the Children’s Sermon, at which point, they break off from the general sermon to discuss the themes or topics more closely and creatively using music, dance, arts & crafts, and storytelling as a way to learn the Word of God.
Confirmation aged children have more serious discussion on topics, and use such tools as films, guest speakers, assigned article readings, creative writing, and listening to stories from others. In addition, confirmands, along with high school and college aged church members, assist with the teachings of our Sunday School program.
This year’s theme for Sunday School and Confirmation is “Celebrating A World of Difference.” It will focus on teaching our children to become open minded and hearted, more compassionate, and more spiritually invested in themselves, those around them, and God.
